Arcade Fire @ Randall's Island + "Neon Bible" Video

Arcade Fire was greated by a huge feverishly excited crowd at Randall's Island on Saturday, October 6th.

With doors at 3:30 p.m., 80 degree temps and four openers - LCD Sound System, Blonde Redhead, Les Savy Fav and Wild Light (more on them throughout the week), it was a day for die hard AF fans.

We got a treat early on when Win Butler walked by the front row to shake hands and set off a small riot.

I started my trek at 11:30 a.m. when I headed up to 125th to catch the bus out to Randall's and then began the long wait for the doors to open followed by a sprint down the hill, across the field to the stage and several hours of standing too close to too many sweaty people.

Forget being blood brothers!!

I have a whole family now of "sweat" brothers and sisters.

Cue - "We Are Family"!

Aracade Fire finally rolled out in the 9 o'clock hour and "yes" they were worth the wait!

"Keep the Car Running" exploded off the stage and "My Body is a Cage" roared like thunder.

Regine danced across the stage, Win climbed down from the stage to sing to the front row. I got flattened briefly but I decided it was worth it when Win announced that Randall's was going to the band's last gig in NYC "for a couple of years".

Back to the studio?

Hmmm . . .

The other thing to go down on October 6th was that we finally found out what the big secret was that the band had cooking.

It's a video for "Neon Bible".

It's pretty cool, actually though a bodiless Win kind of freaks me out - you can watch it @ beonlineb.com
