Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova Win Oscar + Tour Dates
They did it!
Music soulmates Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, the duo at the center of the film Once, rode their DIY ethic onto the red carpet and all the way up to the podium where they scored an Oscar for Best Originial Song for "Falling Slowly".
Indie film Once was shot on a shoe string budget and went on to win over audience members with it's simple tale of an Irish busker and a Czech immigrant who meet and make music together.
The night before the Academy Awards, Once also won Best Foreign Film at the Indie Spirit Awards.
Hansard and Irglova are touring under the moniker The Swell Season and you can catch them live in NYC at Radio City Music Hall on May 19th. They are also playing Coachella.
