El Perro del Mar - Interview & Bowery Ballroom 5/8

Sweden's El Perro del Mar (a.k.a Sarah Assbring) had us swooning at her feet back in 2006 when her self-titled debut was released.

Guess what kids this singer/songwriter is no one trick pony because disc #2 From The Valley To The Stars (Control Group/Tcg) is just as shiny and sweet!

Being that we're hooked on all things El Perro, we had to grab some time with her.

You can read our interview at Short and Sweet NYC for the scoop on who she'd like to work with (you might be surprised!) and other things.

El Perro del Mar is currently visiting NYC's urban jungle where she'll play a show at Bowery Ballroom on Thursday, May 8th with fellow Swede Lykke Li, who also has the music scene buzzing.

Tickets are sold out but if you're willing to wait around, you might be able to score an extra.

Cowboy Junkies - Interview

We've been huge fans of Cowboy Junkies ever since we heard their cover of The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" a long time ago (i.e. when we were just music-lovers in training).

It was dream come true time when we actually got to communicate with band member Margo Timmins. It was only by email but when you're a "junkie" like us . . . well let's just say we would have been happy to tap out questions using morse code or Indian smoke signals.

You can read our chat with Margo at kevchino.com
